Melbourne, FL – Pedestrian Killed in Crash on W King St at Cox Rd

Melbourne, FL (September 6, 2024) – A 68-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Thursday night, September 5, on W King St near Cox Rd in Brevard County. The accident occurred around 7:50 p.m. when the man entered a crosswalk and walked into the path of a 2004 Cadillac CTS.

The front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 51-year-old Cocoa man, was not injured.

Authorities are still investigating the traffic signal conditions at the time of the crash and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
