The accident was reported at approximately 2:25 a.m., involving a 2017 Ford Mustang and a 2013 Cadillac ATS. Both vehicles were severely damaged, with emergency services responding promptly to the scene.
The Ford Mustang, driven by a 36-year-old female from Hartville, MO, crossed the centerline, striking the westbound Cadillac ATS head-on. Emergency responders pronounced the female driver deceased at the scene, while the 42-year-old male driver of the Cadillac, hailing from Marshfield, MO, was airlifted to CoxHealth South in Springfield. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m.
This collision marks the 111th and 112th fatalities in Troop D’s jurisdiction for 2024. Authorities confirmed that both vehicles were removed by Marshfield Towing, and the crash remains under investigation.
