Markham, IL (January 30, 2025) – At least one person lost their life in a crash on northbound I-57 in the south suburbs on Wednesday night.
According to Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident occurred south of 159th Street near Pulaski Road. Emergency responders, including a medical helicopter, were called to the scene to assist. However, authorities confirmed that the crash resulted in at least one fatality.
Following the collision, northbound traffic was redirected off I-57 at 167th Street, and extended lane closures were put in place while officials worked to clear the scene and conduct their investigation.
At this time, additional details regarding the cause of the crash and the identities of those involved have not been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
