Marion County, FL (October 20, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old woman. At approximately 6:45 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the woman was crossing US-441 when she was struck by a black Kia Forte.
According to the preliminary investigation by FHP, the woman was walking west across US-441 near a hill crest when she entered the direct path of the vehicle. Emergency responders from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Marion County Fire Rescue quickly arrived on the scene to assist. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
