Maries, MO (September 16, 2024) – A head-on collision on Sunday, September 15, along Hwy 28 east of Hwy C resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred at approximately 6:47 PM when a 2005 Subaru Outback, driven by 41-year-old Michael Edington, crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500.

Elijah Woodward, 21, the driver of the Dodge, was ejected from his vehicle after it overturned. Woodward was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, where he was later pronounced dead. Edington sustained extensive vehicle damage and was towed from the scene.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
