Maries, MO (December 6, 2024) – At 2:20 PM on Thursday, a serious collision occurred on US Highway 63, approximately two miles north of Vienna, involving two vehicles. A 2010 Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 43-year-old male from Steelville, MO, crossed the center line and struck a 2022 Ford Econoline E350 traveling northbound. The impact caused the Ford Econoline to veer off the roadway and overturn.
The driver of the Hyundai Sonata, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries. He was flown by Phelps Air to University Hospital in Columbia for emergency treatment. The driver of the Ford Econoline, a 26-year-old male from Dixon, MO, was not injured but had his vehicle towed by C&C Towing. The Hyundai Sonata was also towed by Plaza Towing, both vehicles being declared total losses.
