Maricopa County, AZ (September 17, 2024) – A serious motorcycle accident occurred early Monday morning, September 16, on northbound Loop 303, resulting in critical injuries to the rider. The crash took place around 2:30 a.m. near Peoria Avenue, close to Waddell and Surprise.
According to troopers, a pick-up truck rear-ended the motorcycle, ejecting the 36-year-old rider and dragging the motorcycle approximately three-quarters of a mile to the Peoria Avenue off-ramp. The motorcyclist remained on the road until a passerby helped move him to safety. He was then rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The 34-year-old woman driving the truck was unharmed. Authorities have ruled out impairment as a factor but noted that fatigue may have contributed to the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
