Marengo, IA (December 11, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred Tuesday afternoon in Iowa County, resulting in the death of a Marengo man. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place around 2:30 PM on the 2000 block of 210th Street.
A 2009 Ford Escape, traveling southbound, crossed the centerline for reasons that remain unclear. The vehicle then collided head-on with an oncoming truck and trailer. The driver of the Ford Escape, 52-year-old William Myers of Marengo, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of the truck, however, was not reported to have sustained any injuries.
