Mapleton Twp, MN (December 20, 2024) – A crash involving a pedestrian occurred on Minnesota Highway 30 near milepost 143 at approximately 3:19 PM on Thursday. Emergency responders, including the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Mapleton Police Department, Mapleton Fire Department, and Mayo Ambulance, were dispatched to the scene to provide care and assess the situation.
A westbound Toyota Camry lost control and struck an 11-year-old male pedestrian from Mapleton. The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries but did not require transportation to a medical facility. The Toyota was driven by a 17-year-old female whose identity has not been released. The driver and three juvenile female passengers, aged 16, 18, and 14, were unharmed in the crash. All individuals in the vehicle were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
