Mankato, MN (November 30, 2024) – An injury accident occurred at the intersection of HWY 169 and W Lind St in Mankato, Blue Earth County, at approximately 8:42 PM. The driver of the Ford Expedition, 35-year-old Amanda Rose Scharfe from North Mankato, MN, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mankato Hospital. The airbag in her vehicle was deployed during the crash. Fortunately, the passengers in her vehicle—a 3-year-old girl, a 6-year-old girl, a 4-year-old girl, and another adult male—did not report any injuries and were not taken to the hospital.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, 53-year-old Lynn Robert Folsom from Courtland, MN, was unharmed in the crash, although his airbag deployed as well. It was reported that alcohol was involved in the accident for the driver of the Silverado, but he did not sustain injuries.
The collision occurred in dry road conditions, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
