Manitowoc, WI – 78-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by SUV on Maritime Drive

Manitowoc, WI (September 15, 2024) – A 78-year-old man from Madison was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing Maritime Drive near Huron Street on Saturday night, September 14. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when the man was hit by a southbound SUV as he crossed the street westbound.

Emergency responders from the Manitowoc Police and Fire Rescue departments arrived quickly and transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of family members.

The driver of the SUV, a 78-year-old man from California, was uninjured. Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with the crash reconstruction as the investigation continues.
