Manatee County, FL – Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Accident on US-41 near 57th Ave W

Manatee County, FL (September 11, 2024) – A 62-year-old woman from Bradenton was seriously injured in a bicycle accident late Tuesday night on US-41, south of 57th Ave W. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was not wearing a helmet when she crossed into the path of a southbound pickup truck at around 11:30 p.m.

The woman was transported to HCA Florida Blake Hospital with serious injuries. The pickup truck driver, a 37-year-old man from Sarasota, was uninjured in the incident.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
