Maine Prairie Township, MN (February 28, 2025) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on MN Highway 15 near Mile Marker 136 in Stearns County on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred around 12:58 PM and involved three vehicles: a 2011 Kia Sorento, a 2011 Chevrolet Impala, and a 2018 Toyota Corolla. Reports indicate that the Kia Sorento was traveling northbound, while the Toyota Corolla and Chevrolet Impala were heading southbound when all three vehicles collided.
Emergency crews, including personnel from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Watkins Ambulance, and Kimball Fire Department, responded to assist those involved. The 17-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Impala, from Rice, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for medical treatment. The other two drivers, identified as Leslie Jolene Plath, 59, of Hutchinson, MN, and Cole Wade Loewen, 39, of Saint Cloud, MN, were not injured in the crash.
Authorities confirmed that all drivers were wearing seat belts, and no alcohol was involved. The road conditions were dry at the time of the incident. Investigators are working to determine the factors leading up to the collision.
