Madisonville, KY (September 17, 2024) – A tragic head-on collision occurred on Monday night on Nebo Road, resulting in the death of a juvenile and injuries to two women. The accident took place in the 4000 block shortly before 9:00 PM.
According to the Madisonville Police, the incident involved a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Jessica Settle of Manitou, who was traveling northbound. Settle’s vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound car driven by 40-year-old Amy Hirsch of Hopkinsville.
Emergency responders reported that a passenger in Hirsch’s vehicle, 25-year-old Ashley Foster, was extricated by the Madisonville Fire Department. Both Foster and Hirsch were transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Deaconess Emergency Room for treatment of their injuries.
Additionally, both Settle and a female juvenile passenger in her vehicle were also taken by ambulance to the same hospital for medical care. Tragically, the juvenile was later pronounced dead.
The Kentucky State Police, along with the Manitou Fire Department, Medical Center Ambulance Service, Providence EMS, and the Kentucky State Highway Department, assisted Madisonville Police at the scene.
