Macon, MO (September 28, 2024) – A serious traffic accident occurred on US-63 at the Excello intersection on Friday afternoon, September 27 resulting in multiple injuries. The incident was reported around 1:40 PM, prompting a response from local emergency services.
According to the crash report, a 2024 GMC Acadia, driven by 55-year-old Kimberly A. Gittemeier from Cairo, MO, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder, driven by 36-year-old Kristopher P. Kidd from Moberly, MO, was traveling southbound when the collision occurred, resulting in extensive damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by their respective towing companies.
The crash left several individuals injured, including two juvenile occupants in the Pathfinder, aged 6 and 8, who sustained serious injuries. They were transported to University Hospital by ambulance for urgent medical care. Additionally, the driver of the Pathfinder, Kristopher Kidd, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital. Kimberly Gittemeier, the driver of the Acadia, was similarly transported to University Hospital with serious injuries.
