Macon, MO (November 6, 2024) – A serious vehicle collision occurred on Monday morning at approximately 10:05 a.m. on US Highway 36, half a mile west of New Cambria. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident, which involved two vehicles.
According to the investigation conducted by CPL Porter, the accident involved a 2005 Chevrolet 3500 and a 2016 Lincoln MKZ. The Chevrolet, driven by a 62-year-old male from Ethel, MO, was declared a total loss and was towed by its owner. The Lincoln, driven by a 32-year-old male from Kansas City, MO, also sustained total damage and was towed by Stills.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the Chevrolet failed to yield at an intersection, resulting in a collision with the Lincoln MKZ. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles.
In terms of injuries, a 22-year-old male occupant of the Lincoln, from Chillicothe, MO, sustained injuries and was transported by Macon County Ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Fortunately, all drivers involved were reported to be wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, Macon County Ambulance, and New Cambria Fire Department assisted at the scene to manage the situation and ensure the safety of all involved.
