Macks Creek, MO (September 23, 2024) – A serious accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 23, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The incident took place around 1 a.m. when a 2024 Polaris Ranger, driven by 23-year-old Zachary J. Wallace of Macks Creek, was involved in a single-vehicle crash.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), Wallace was traveling south near 161 Kennedy Drive when he approached a left turn at a high speed. As he navigated the turn, the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. In an attempt to regain control, Wallace began to skid, ultimately striking a culvert before returning to the road. However, the vehicle continued to cross the center lines, overturned, and went off the left side of the road.
The crash resulted in the ejection of two passengers, 33-year-old Lacey N. Linton and 35-year-old Curtis L. McGhee, both also from Macks Creek. Both occupants sustained moderate injuries due to being thrown from the Polaris Ranger during the rollover. Zachary Wallace suffered serious injuries as well after being ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported all three individuals to Lake Regional Hospital for medical treatment. It was noted by MSHP that none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident, which likely contributed to the severity of their injuries.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this unfortunate accident as they recover from their injuries.
