Lynnwood, WA (October 31, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred Wednesday evening on State Route 99, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old man and injuries to another pedestrian. The incident took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. as the two men were crossing SR99 at 156th Street SW when they were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, the 29-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. The second pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he is expected to survive his injuries.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) reported that they located the vehicle involved in the incident, identified as a white Chevrolet Trailblazer with “reportable damage.” However, the driver was not present with the SUV at the time of the investigation.
Following the accident, all southbound lanes of State Route 99 were closed to facilitate the investigation and clear the scene, but they have since reopened.
