Lynn County, TX (October 7, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, October 5, at the intersection of US Highway 84 and Farm to Market Road 212, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old woman and serious injuries to an 18-year-old man. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash took place around 2:20 p.m. Erin Nichole Osborn, of Big Spring, Texas, was traveling north on FM 212, while Wayne Nelson Friesenhahn, of Lubbock, Texas, was approaching the same intersection from the southeast on US 84.
Reports indicate that Osborn failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at the intersection, pulling into Friesenhahn’s path. The two vehicles collided, leading to severe consequences. Osborn was pronounced deceased at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Friesenhahn was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock for treatment of his injuries.
