Luce County, MI (February 26, 2025) – A suspected drunk driver struck two snowmobilers Saturday night in McMillan Township, injuring both riders before fleeing the scene, according to local authorities.
The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. on County Road 451 when a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old man from Newberry collided with a snowmobile carrying a 36-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man. Both victims were hospitalized with injuries.
After the crash, the suspect reportedly fled on foot but was later arrested at a residence. He now faces charges of operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
