Louisville, KY (March 5, 2025) – Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a man early Wednesday morning.
Authorities initially responded to a report of a possible shooting around 5:40 a.m. in the 9000 block of Dixie Hwy. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male deceased at the scene. However, after further examination, investigators determined that the victim had not been shot but was instead struck by a vehicle.
The driver responsible for the collision fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The LMPD Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the incident. Officials have not yet released the victim’s name pending notification of his family.
