Louisville, KY (November 3, 2024) – A tragic vehicle collision occurred on Saturday afternoon in Marion County, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to the incident around 6:20 p.m. on US 68, near the intersection of Jessietown Road.

Preliminary investigations indicate that 20-year-old Erik Garcia of Lebanon was traveling westbound on US 68 when he crossed the centerline and entered the eastbound lane. After briefly dropping off the roadway, Garcia steered back into the eastbound lane, where he collided head-on with another vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 70-year-old Roy Wright of Lebanon, was traveling east on US 68 at the time of the crash. Tragically, his passenger, 72-year-old Deborah Wright of Lebanon, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner. Roy Wright was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, authorities have not confirmed the relationship between Roy and Deborah Wright. Erik Garcia has been charged with multiple offenses, including vehicular homicide, assault, DUI, wanton endangerment, and other traffic violations.
