Louisville, KY (October 9, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred in eastern Kentucky that resulted in the death of one individual and the arrest of a Louisville woman on multiple charges. The incident took place on Friday, October 4, around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of US 460 and KY Route 114 in the Salyersville community, according to the Kentucky State Police (KSP).
Authorities reported that Sarah Spurling, 33, was driving a 2013 Toyota Avalon when her vehicle collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Roger Arnett. Arnett was attempting to turn into a nearby driveway at the time of the crash. The impact caused Arnett’s vehicle to subsequently strike a 2006 GMC Sierra driven by Pernell Lemaster.
Emergency responders transported Arnett to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, Kentucky State Police arrested Spurling and booked her at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. She faces several charges, including:

- Vehicular homicide when under the influence
- First-degree wanton endangerment
