Los Angeles, CA (February 8, 2025) – A tragic multi-car crash on the 405 Freeway near Wilshire Blvd in Westwood resulted in the deaths of a woman and a dog, with multiple other individuals injured. The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Firefighters and paramedics from Los Angeles Fire and Rescue responded quickly to the scene. One person was reportedly trapped inside a vehicle and required extrication. Authorities confirmed that a 72-year-old woman and a dog were pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional individuals were injured, with two in critical condition and the third, a 60-year-old woman, reported to be in fair condition.
Due to the severity of the crash, CHP issued a SigAlert for three lanes on the northbound side of the freeway, which remained in effect until just after 10:30 p.m. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
