Loris, SC (February 16, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a residential structure fire in Loris on Friday morning that resulted in critical injuries and significant property damage.
According to Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR), firefighters were dispatched at 8:51 a.m. to a home on the 7000 block of Highway 66. Upon arrival, they found the mobile home engulfed in flames, sustaining heavy fire damage.
Emergency responders worked quickly to control the fire, and it was brought under control later in the morning. However, reports confirm that critical injuries were sustained in the incident. The number of individuals affected has not yet been released.
Due to the emergency response and cleanup efforts, Highway 66 in the affected area remains closed for an extended period. Motorists are urged to avoid the area to prevent congestion and ensure safety for firefighters and law enforcement personnel on the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. HCFR is being assisted by the Loris Fire Department, Tabor City Fire Department, and Horry County Police Department in assessing the scene.
