Lorain, OH (February 9, 2025) – The Lorain Police Department is actively searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a male pedestrian early Thursday morning.
At approximately 6:33 a.m., officers from both the Lorain Police Department and the Amherst Police Department responded to reports of a man lying in the roadway in front of 1420 Cooper Foster Park Rd. Upon arrival, officers determined that the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle traveling westbound, which fled the scene without stopping.
LifeCare Ambulance paramedics arrived promptly and provided emergency medical care to the unidentified man. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
The crash site remained closed for four hours as investigators collected evidence and processed the scene. The Lorain Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is continuing to investigate this tragic incident. At this time, authorities have not released any information regarding the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
