Lonoke, AR (February 1, 2025) – A tragic accident on Interstate 40 eastbound near mile marker 165 in Lonoke County claimed the life of one individual early Friday morning.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, which occurred around 4:50 a.m. According to reports, the collision involved three vehicles: a 2014 Toyota Camry, a 2005 Kenworth truck, and a 2023 Kenworth tractor-trailer, all traveling eastbound on I-40.
Authorities confirmed that 51-year-old Sherry Meadows of Texarkana, TX, was fatally injured in the crash. She was identified as the driver of the Toyota Camry. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Initial findings indicate that a 2005 Kenworth truck (Vehicle 2) was unoccupied and parked on the inside shoulder, partially blocking the #2 lane. The Toyota Camry (Vehicle 1) was attempting to maneuver around the parked truck when a 2023 Kenworth tractor-trailer (Vehicle 3) struck both the parked truck and the Toyota Camry.
The crash took place under cloudy skies with wet road conditions, which may have contributed to the incident. Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Truck Accidents in Arkansas
Arkansas highways, including major routes like Interstate 40, are frequently traveled by commercial trucks, making them high-risk areas for serious collisions. Large truck accidents often result in severe injuries or fatalities due to the sheer size and weight of these vehicles.
Factors such as road conditions, weather, and visibility play a significant role in trucking accidents. In this case, wet roads and a parked truck in an active lane may have contributed to the tragic outcome. Accidents involving large trucks often require extensive investigations to determine liability, as multiple parties, including truck drivers, trucking companies, and maintenance providers, could be responsible.
In the aftermath of a fatal crash, families may have legal options to pursue compensation for their losses. Seeking professional guidance can help you navigate complex insurance claims and wrongful death cases.
