Longview, WA (February 3, 2025) – A suspected DUI crash on Highway 411 sent a man and his young passenger to the hospital Saturday evening. Authorities later arrested 47-year-old Ryan Hamar of Longview in connection with the incident.
The crash occurred before 7:30 p.m. near milepost 3 when Hamar, driving a Chevrolet Colorado, lost control of the vehicle. The truck struck an embankment, rolled over, and came to rest, blocking the roadway.
Emergency responders transported Hamar and his 5-year-old passenger to the hospital for treatment. Officials confirmed the child had been properly restrained in a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Following the accident, authorities arrested Hamar on charges of DUI and reckless endangerment. Investigators determined that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
Our thoughts are with the injured child, and we hope for a full recovery.
