Longmont, CO (February 12, 2025) – Three people were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle crash on northbound U.S. 287, between Longmont and Berthoud, on Tuesday morning.
According to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Gabriel Moltrer, the crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 287 and West Larimer County Road 2E at approximately 8:50 a.m. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, shutting down the northbound lanes at 8:51 a.m. and both directions of travel by 8:54 a.m.
Traffic disruptions continued as southbound lanes were reopened at 9:36 a.m., along with the left northbound lane. However, the full northbound closure was reinstated at 10:10 a.m. for vehicle removal, with an expected reopening around 10:15 a.m.
The accident involved two SUVs, though authorities have not yet confirmed the severity of the injuries sustained by the individuals involved. Emergency crews remained on the scene to investigate and clear the roadway.
