Livingston Parish, LA (September 4, 2024) – Nine students were injured in a school bus accident on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, in Livingston Parish. A Ford F250 truck rear-ended the bus on Cane Market Rd near Napoleon Dr, officials reported. The bus was transporting students from Live Oak High School and Live Oak Junior High.
At the time of the collision, 24 students were aboard. Nine of those students were taken to a local hospital for treatment and observation. Fortunately, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, according to investigators.
The school bus sustained significant damage to its rear, but the driver managed to safely drive it to the district’s maintenance facility. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
