The Risks of Left-Turn Accidents in Oregon
Left-turn accidents, like the one at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 22, are among the most dangerous types of collisions. These crashes often occur when drivers misjudge the speed or distance of oncoming vehicles or fail to yield the right of way. In Oregon, rural highways can pose additional risks due to higher speeds and limited visibility.
Data from state transportation agencies highlight the dangers of left-turn maneuvers, particularly at busy intersections without traffic signals or dedicated turn lanes. Preventing such accidents requires heightened awareness, adherence to traffic laws, and, where possible, infrastructure improvements.
Victims of left-turn accidents often face significant physical and emotional challenges. From immediate medical treatment to long-term recovery, the road ahead can be difficult. If you or someone you love has been involved in a collision, understanding your legal options and seeking support is vital.
