Lincoln, NE (November 27, 2024) – A wrong-way crash on Nebraska Highway 2 near Palmyra left two individuals injured on Monday evening, November 25. The collision occurred around 8:00 p.m., east of the intersection with Nebraska Highway 43.
According to the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, a 63-year-old man from Lincoln was driving a Nissan Rogue westbound in the eastbound lane of Nebraska Highway 2. The vehicle collided head-on with an Audi Q5 driven by a 54-year-old woman from Nebraska City.
Emergency responders were quick to the scene, and the driver of the Nissan Rogue was flown to a hospital in Lincoln with serious injuries. The driver of the Audi was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, though her injuries were not described as life-threatening.
Investigators believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash, and the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
