Lincoln, NE (January 21, 2025) – A head-on collision east of Lincoln late Monday night left two drivers with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred just before midnight on the bridge over Stevens Creek near the intersection of 120th and O Street (Highway 34).
The accident involved a van traveling eastbound and a Ford Escape heading westbound. One of the drivers was trapped and required extrication by first responders. Southeast Fire and Rescue, Lincoln Fire & Rescue, and ambulances responded to the scene, while the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office temporarily shut down O Street east of 120th Street. The roadway was reopened just before 2:30 a.m.
Both injured drivers were transported to a Lincoln hospital via ambulance. Preliminary reports suggest alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation.
