Lincoln, NE (November 25, 2024) – A high-speed crash involving a Dodge Charger and a Nissan Murano in northeast Lincoln has left three individuals hospitalized with serious injuries. The collision, which occurred at the intersection of 70th and O Streets on Saturday night, is under investigation by the Lincoln Police Department.
The incident began shortly after 9 PM when an officer observed a purple Dodge Charger driving recklessly near 84th and O Streets. The driver of the Charger refused to stop, fleeing westbound on O Street. Due to safety concerns, the officer did not initiate a pursuit but continued driving west. Moments later, the Charger collided with a Nissan Murano at 70th and O Streets and caught fire.

The driver of the Charger, a 20-year-old man, sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The occupants of the Nissan Murano, individuals approximately in their 50s and 70s, were also transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
