Lincoln, NE (September 5, 2024) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a crash near 56th St and O St on Tuesday afternoon, September 3. Lincoln Police responded around 3:30 p.m. to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a stopped car. Investigators found the motorcyclist had been speeding and weaving through traffic before crashing into the rear of a stationary vehicle.
The motorcycle sustained significant damage, estimated at $8,000. The car, which was stopped in the eastbound lane, had minor damages amounting to $5,000.
The motorcyclist suffered a brain bleed and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident and are expected to provide further updates.
