Lincoln, MO (December 6, 2024) – A collision occurred at 8:06 AM on Thursday morning at Route V, located west of Windy Ridge Lane in Lincoln County. The accident involved two vehicles: a 2001 Ford Ranger and a 2004 Dodge Neon. The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 59-year-old female from Troy, MO, reportedly pulled into the path of the Dodge Neon from a private drive, causing the two vehicles to collide.

The 27-year-old male driver of the Dodge Neon, also from Troy, MO, suffered injuries. He was treated at the scene by Lincoln County Ambulance personnel and later transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis for further evaluation. The Ford Ranger, driven by the female driver, sustained extensive damage but was driven from the scene. The Dodge Neon sustained moderate damage and was towed by WERKS Towing.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation and scene management. At this time, the exact cause of the crash is still under review, but preliminary information indicates that the driver of the Ford Ranger may not have yielded to the oncoming vehicle.

Our thoughts are with those involved in this accident, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the injured party.

Traffic Safety and Intersection Collisions in Missouri

This accident highlights the importance of careful driving when pulling onto busy roads, especially from private drives. Failing to yield to oncoming traffic can lead to collisions with serious consequences, even if the injury is minor. Accidents like this serve as reminders to always check for approaching vehicles before entering a roadway and to be cautious when making turns or entering from private property.

The role of safety features, such as seat belts, was critical in minimizing injury, as both drivers involved were wearing their seat belts. In this case, the driver of the Dodge Neon, although injured, was able to receive prompt medical treatment thanks to the quick response from emergency services.

If you or someone you know has been involved in an intersection or driveway-related collision, it’s important to contact local authorities and seek guidance on handling insurance claims and any potential legal matters.
