Lincoln, MO (September 5, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision on Wednesday, September 4, resulted in serious injuries to one driver and minor injuries to another. The crash occurred when Ashley Smelser, 29, driving a Nissan Altima. Failed to yield and collided with a Nissan Frontier driven by Hilario Resendiz Herandez, 34. Both vehicles left the roadway, and the Altima caught fire.

Smelser suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Resendiz Herandez sustained minor injuries and was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
