Lincoln, DE (December 25, 2024) – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 29-year-old man from Milford early Wednesday morning on Christmas Day. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 AM on Cubbage Pond Rd near Lincoln.
According to preliminary reports, a Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on Cubbage Pond Rd when it struck a pedestrian walking along the roadway. The driver of the Toyota fled the scene, continuing northbound, before abandoning the vehicle on Johnson Rd. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after the incident and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
Cubbage Pond Rd, from Johnson Rd to Flea Town Rd, was closed for approximately three hours while the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation and worked to clear the area.
