Lincoln County, MO (March 5, 2025) – A collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck on US-61 left a teenager injured Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. on northbound US-61 at North Lincoln Drive. A 2001 Dodge Durango, driven by a 19-year-old man from Silex, entered the highway and collided with the rear driver-side trailer of a northbound 2022 Peterbilt 579. The impact caused extensive damage to the Dodge Durango, which was towed from the scene by Thornhill Towing.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, and paramedics from the Lincoln County Ambulance District transported a 17-year-old female passenger from the Dodge Durango to Mercy Lincoln Hospital with injuries. The 58-year-old truck driver from Marshfield, MO, was able to drive his vehicle from the scene and did not report any injuries.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts are with those involved, and we wish the injured passenger a full recovery.

Truck Accidents in Missouri

Crashes involving commercial trucks and passenger vehicles can be particularly dangerous due to the size and weight differences between vehicles. Even when a truck is involved in a seemingly minor collision, the impact can lead to severe vehicle damage and injuries.

Missouri highways, including US-61, experience a high volume of commercial truck traffic. Accidents often occur when drivers merge onto highways or misjudge the speed of oncoming vehicles. Safe merging techniques and awareness of blind spots are essential in reducing these types of crashes.

Victims of truck accidents may face medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and other financial burdens. Understanding insurance policies and legal rights is crucial for those seeking compensation after a crash. Consulting with experienced professionals can help ensure that victims receive the support they need.
