Emergency responders, including paramedics and Lincoln County Fire and Rescue, arrived swiftly at the scene of the crash, which took place around 10:30 AM. The incident involved a 2020 Kia Sportage and a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. According to the investigation, the Kia Sportage, driven by a 61-year-old male from Mexico, MO, failed to yield to oncoming traffic, leading to a collision with the Chevrolet Colorado traveling northbound.
Several individuals sustained injuries in the crash. The driver of the Kia Sportage suffered serious injuries and was transported by Lincoln County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. A 66-year-old female occupant of the Kia also sustained serious injuries and was taken to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis. In the Chevrolet Colorado, the 70-year-old female driver and her two passengers, aged 69 and 90, were treated for moderate injuries and transported to nearby medical facilities, including Mercy Hospital St. Louis and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters.
