Lincoln County, MO (December 25, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision occurred late Tuesday night at North Lincoln Drive and Estates Street in Lincoln County, leaving three individuals with injuries. The crash, reported at approximately 11:23 PM, involved a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2011 Ford Fusion.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Chevrolet Equinox, traveling northbound on N Lincoln Drive, failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the southbound lane. The vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Ford Fusion, causing it to spin. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.

The driver of the Ford Fusion, a 32-year-old woman from Troy, MO, along with her two juvenile passengers, ages 3 and 4, suffered injuries. All three were transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis by the Lincoln County Ambulance District for further treatment. The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, whose details remain unclear, was not reported as injured.

Trooper D. M. Bochucinski is investigating the crash with assistance from local authorities.

Our thoughts go to the victims as we hope for their recovery.

Curve-Related Collisions in Missouri

Curve-related collisions, like the one on N Lincoln Drive, often occur when drivers fail to adjust speed or direction to navigate sharp bends safely. These types of crashes can result in severe injuries or fatalities, especially when vehicles cross into oncoming traffic.

Missouri drivers are urged to exercise caution while traveling on winding roads, maintaining safe speeds, and adhering to roadway markings. Defensive driving and the proper use of safety devices, such as seat belts, can help reduce the risk and severity of injuries in such incidents.

If you or someone you know has been involved in a traffic collision, seeking immediate medical care and understanding your legal options are essential steps toward recovery and accountability.
