Lima, OH (December 4, 2024) – Emergency responders, including state troopers and the American Township Fire and Police Departments, were called to the scene of a two-car head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Elida Rd near Grubb Rd. The crash occurred just before 4 PM, involving a black Ford F-150 driven by 34-year-old Joseph Fritts of Lima and a Buick driven by 23-year-old Alexis Miller of Van Wert.
According to authorities, Fritts was traveling westbound on Elida Rd when he crossed the center line, colliding head-on with Miller’s vehicle. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Health St. Rita’s for treatment. A passenger in the Buick, 22-year-old Sierra Adams of Van Wert, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol suspects drug impairment may have been a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
