Ligonier, IN (September 15, 2024) – A high-speed crash on U.S. 33 near U.S. 6 left five people injured Saturday morning. The Indiana State Police reported that the incident occurred around 8:30 AM and involved three vehicles. Prior to the crash, a Mercedes C-Class, driven by Ethan Aza, 23, of Warsaw, IN, was involved in a police pursuit.

The Mercedes rear-ended a Nissan Rogue SUV, causing it to overturn, and sideswiped an Acura. Aza and the two occupants of the Rogue were critically injured, while two others suffered injuries. The investigation is ongoing, with charges expected.
