Lexington County, SC (November 10, 2024) – A motorcycle crash on U.S. 21 Saturday night claimed the life of one person and left another hospitalized, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The single-vehicle collision occurred near the junction with Interstate 26 at approximately 8:50 p.m.
A 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on U.S. 21 when it veered off the right side of the road, striking several construction barrels and a road-closed sign before overturning, said Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway.
The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to Prisma Health Richland Hospital for treatment. Information regarding the passenger’s condition has not been released.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is withholding the identity of the deceased driver pending notification of family members. No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash to determine its cause.
