Lewistown, MO (October 1, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred on Monday evening in Lewistown, resulting in injuries to a LaBelle woman and two children. At approximately 5:10 PM on September 30, 2024, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident involving two vehicles on Mo. 6 at Maple Street.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2016 Ford F-150, driven by 47-year-old Timothy J. Oberbeck from Quincy, IL, was traveling eastbound when he attempted to make a left turn. While executing the turn, the F-150 failed to yield to a westbound 2012 Ford Escape, operated by 27-year-old Summer L. Schlueter from LaBelle. The collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles.
Emergency responders were alerted to the scene, and Schlueter, along with her two passengers—a 5-year-old male and an 8-year-old female, both from LaBelle—were transported by private vehicle to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for medical evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.
