Lewis, MO (September 9, 2024) – A tragic head-on collision on US 61 at Route P claimed the life of 95-year-old Roy J. Schutte of Canton, MO, and seriously injured Amy L. Ohnemus, 42, from Hannibal, MO. The accident occurred at 9:50 AM, with both vehicles towed due to total damage.

Schutte, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, entered the southbound lane heading north and collided with Ohnemus’s 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Schutte was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ohnemus was transported to Blessing Hospital for her injuries.
