Lenawee County, MI (November 27, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of M-52 and Sutton Rd in Raisin Township, resulting in the death of an 84-year-old Deerfield man. Deputies from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene just before 1:30 PM, where they discovered that the man had been involved in a collision while turning south from Sutton Rd onto M-52.
According to the sheriff’s office, the Deerfield man was struck by a vehicle driven by a 67-year-old woman from Tipton, who was traveling northbound on M-52. The impact led to a “lengthy extrication” of the man, who was subsequently taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
