Lenawee County, MI (October 2, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred in Lenawee County on Tuesday evening, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The crash took place at approximately 6:43 p.m. at the intersection of Tipton Highway and Shepherd Road.
According to a press release from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, a Chevy Traverse was traveling southbound on Tipton Highway when a westbound Jeep Cherokee failed to stop at a stop sign. The Jeep struck the Traverse, causing both vehicles to veer off the roadway and come to rest in a nearby field.
The driver of the Traverse, an 83-year-old male, was killed in the collision, along with his 79-year-old wife and 52-year-old daughter, who were passengers in the vehicle. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee also lost their life in the crash. Authorities reported that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the incident, and it seems that all occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
