The incident occurred at approximately 6:41 PM on Thursday evening. Lehigh Acres Fire crews were quick to respond, arriving at the scene to find the vehicle fully submerged in the canal, with bubbles rising to the surface.
Upon arrival, a firefighter swiftly entered the water and rescued the man, who was reportedly drowning inside the vehicle. Emergency responders worked tirelessly to stabilize the victim, who had been in cardiac arrest for about 14 minutes.
