Leach, OK (October 26, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred in Delaware County on Thursday evening, October 24, resulting in the death of a Mayes County man. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place around 7:15 p.m. on US-412A, north of E 560 Rd, approximately three miles west of Leach.
James Winkler, 29, of Locust Grove, was riding a 2007 Honda CTR motorcycle when he was involved in the collision. Unfortunately, he died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
The other vehicle involved was a 2020 Jeep Cherokee driven by 29-year-old Andrea Overholser of Rose. According to reports, she was treated at Hastings Hospital and has since been released in good condition.
